“I've never known a musician who regretted being one. Whatever deceptions life may have in store for you, music itself is not going to let you down.”
Virgil Thomson

Music International’s maiden voyage, to Albania, was a complete success! We were able to meet several musicians, give away guitar strings to those in need of them, as well as provide the funds for a guitar to be purchased by a church. In this particular case, it was more feasible for us to simply bring funds so that a purchase could be made in Greece, where there are really good instruments available, than to try to bring any instruments ourselves.
Plans are being developed for a trip to India. This one is scheduled for July and will require us to bring instruments ready to be given away and used by the musicians we will work with. We will have times arranged to work with these musicians and help them develop their skills more fully. We have been asked to bring a keyboard and two guitars. If you would like to help in providing these instruments, please be sure to email Jeff at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). Thanks
Be sure to follow us on Facebook. We really appreciate your involvement and support!
Our first trip will be in November, 2009. We have been asked to come to Tirana, Albania, to work with church musicians. Albania, after ending communism in the early 1990’s, has moved very slowly toward a market economy. The desire is to provide guitars and a week of training on them for the betterment of their music programs. We will also be meeting with church leaders from various European countries who will be attending a conference at that time.
Talks are also underway for our second trip, this one to India and Nepal, in May of 2010.
